The global launch of Aion 2 is getting close, and the economy deserves just as much attention as combat and leveling. Players preparing their Aion 2 Items should understand that the global version handles trading very differently from many older MMORPGs. Direct player-to-player trading has been removed, while the Marketplace will become the main way eligible items move between players.
This change is especially important during the opening weeks. Anyone collecting Aion 2 Items, gathering materials, or saving Kinah needs to understand how the new system works before spending too much. The recent Launch Scale Test has already given players a clearer look at the economic rules they will face when the free-to-play launch arrives on October 5.
Direct Trading Has Been Removed
The most obvious difference is that players cannot directly exchange items or Kinah with another player through a traditional trade window.
That means you cannot simply meet a friend in town and hand over equipment, currency, or other useful resources. The same restriction also affects the usual method of moving valuables between alternate characters through another player.
For players coming from older MMORPG economies, this may take some getting used to. Direct trading has always been a convenient way to help friends or move resources around. In Aion 2, however, the economy is being designed around more controlled transactions.
The main reason is to make traditional real-money trading and automated currency-selling operations more difficult. Removing unrestricted transfers gives the game a tighter system for monitoring how Kinah and valuable items move between accounts.
The Marketplace Becomes More Important
With direct trading unavailable, the Marketplace becomes the central point for player commerce.
Players will need to use it carefully because it is not intended to act as a private currency-transfer system. For example, listing a worthless item at an unreasonable price simply so another player can purchase it and effectively receive Kinah can be treated as market abuse.
This makes normal pricing behavior more important than ever. Before listing an item, players should check comparable listings and consider the item's actual usefulness, availability, and current demand.
The early economy may also change quickly. An item that seems extremely valuable on launch day could become much cheaper once more players begin farming the content that produces it.
Membership Affects Market Access
Aion 2 is free to play, but the market is not completely unrestricted for every account.
The planned Membership costs around $15 per month and provides access to important economic functions. Players without an active Membership can face restrictions when listing items and using certain Marketplace-related features.
This is worth considering before launch because the decision is not simply about whether someone wants to play for free. Players who intend to participate heavily in the economy should understand what their account can and cannot do.
Founder's Packs include 30 days of Membership, giving early-access players an opportunity to experience these features during the opening period.
Local Markets Will Come First
The market will also develop in stages rather than becoming fully cross-server immediately.
During Early Access and the initial launch period, trading will focus on individual server markets. Players will primarily buy from and sell to people on their own server.
A cross-server Marketplace is planned later, after separate servers reach a comparable level of progression. This means the first stage could create meaningful differences between server economies.
Gatherers may find that certain raw materials are particularly valuable when supply is still limited. Players who identify those materials early can potentially build their Kinah reserves before the market becomes more crowded.
At the same time, nobody should assume that an early shortage will last forever. As more players reach higher-level content, supply can change very quickly.
Think Before Spending Kinah
One of the easiest mistakes during launch week is spending Kinah simply because something looks useful.
Basic equipment and crafting materials can be expensive when only a small number of players are farming them. Waiting a few days may give dungeon farming and gathering enough time to increase supply and bring some prices closer to their normal level.
Early equipment also tends to have a short lifespan. Constantly upgrading temporary gear can consume currency that becomes much more useful later.
Saving Kinah for higher-level progression is therefore worth considering. Once players reach the later stages, crafting, enchanting, and stat-related upgrades can require considerably more resources.
Use Activities Beyond Trading
The Marketplace is only one part of the wider economy.
Players should also keep up with daily and weekly Supply Requests, mini-games, and other activities that provide account-bound progression resources. This becomes particularly important for Abyss-related progression because some high-end PvP equipment cannot simply be purchased through the Marketplace.
That creates a useful distinction between having plenty of Kinah and having complete progression. A wealthy character can still fall behind if important account-bound activities are being ignored.
Prepare for a Different Economy
The global version of Aion 2 asks players to approach the economy differently from a traditional trade-heavy MMORPG. Direct exchanges are gone, Marketplace rules are stricter, Membership affects market access, and local server economies will develop before cross-server trading becomes available.
Players who want to buy Aion 2 Items should therefore spend some time learning normal market prices instead of making rushed purchases during the first hours of launch. Watching supply, demand, and server progression will be more useful than assuming the first prices are permanent.
